What does Micro-Stimulation do?

The Micro-Stimulation Acupuncture Facial Unit gently stimulates the muscles in your face and neck...areas that you feel may have lost youthful resilience. It helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, helps rid excess fluid accumulation, increases circulation to the skin of the face, increases skin suppleness, helps stimulate collagen production, and improves sagging skin. The facial procedure is very gentle, just the soft touch of cotton tipped probes.  Your muscles will feel tightened and stronger.  And your skin will glow and appear to keep lifting for 24 hours after each facial procedure!

How does it work?

The body is a machine run by electrical signals of your heartbeat and your thoughts.  Even the tone of your skin and muscles is related to a body electrical system.  The skin's ability to maintain its tone and elasticity is controlled by chemical reactions within and between the cells of the skin.  These reactions are triggered by electrical impulses.  As the body ages, these reactions slow down and the skin loses its pliability and suppleness.  Also, underlying muscles, the skin's platform, begin to lose their tone in the same manner and this results in sagging of the skin.  The Micro-Stimulation Facial Unit uses totally safe and painless low level electrical impulses to "re-program" the muscles to assume close to original shape and to support skin tissues to become healthier as the blood circulates.

How long does it take?

A Micro-Stim facial session lasts approximately 30 minutes.  Depending on your skin condition, health condition and age, your series of treatments may range anywhere from six (6) to eighteen (18).  After your initial series, you need to come back only once every six weeks to maintain that healthy and youthful glow. Some patients prefer to have a session sooner, as in four weeks, and some prefer to wait longer than six weeks.  The maintainence will be up to you.  Many patients who leave Florida for the summer and experience a lapse of several months without Micro-Stim, find once they pick up their sessions again, the tone and results come back much quicker than when they initially started.  They are also surprised to find out how long the results hold in between the treatments after the initial series is completed.

How much does it cost?

Micro-Stimulation for medical reasons as listed above may be covered by insurance depending on the patient's particular insurance plan.  Package prices are less expensive than individual treatments. Unlike other facilities that offer this service, Micro-Stim at this office includes the neck, whereas other physicians charge extra to work on the patient's neck.  Additionally, the clinic often runs promotional and seasonal specials throughout the year.  Please check with the office for current specials when ready to book your appointment.
